In 1856 he re-located his business to The Observatory, 40 King's Road, Brighton and the 1859 Post Office Directory of Sussex records Thomas Boxell as a "watchmaker & jeweller" at 43 King's Road, Brighton.He was not only a fine maker but retailed clocks and watches made by some of the finest makers of the period including Thomas Cole and carriage clocks from Drocourt of Paris.
