World. A collection of world stamps in 11 albums, including IOM, GB Presentation Packs and First Day Covers, and world collections. A few better noticed including a used Australia £2 Roo (poor condition), an apparently unused 1847-54 10d embossed (cut-to-shape), but with strength in a nicely written up album which includes two Wartime French propaganda banknotes, with handwritten note. * The following provenance regarding the banknotes was provided by the vendor - “During the Second World War, Arthur was a Teacher at Curledge Street School, Paignton. He lodged with my Grandmother and taught my Father and his Brothers at the school. He collated, during the War, from newspapers, all facts pertaining to the Torbay area, so that my Father and his twin Brother were made aware of what happened on their return, from being Prisoners of War for 5 years. An old pupil gave him the French Bank note. Arthur later became Deputy Head at Tweenaway Boys School, Paignton. Stamp collecting was one of his hobbies. He later became a Director of Plymouth and South Devon Co-operative Society”.
