Lot No: 14 - Ref No: 009 Pride and Joy By Sally Rich Summer Holiday Home: Ashburton Information Centre "Designing and decorating my otters was a dream project. I painted them in my distinctive circular style with a bright colour pallet, celebrating the otters. Both otters are themed differently with the cub otter illustrating a meadow; butterflies, flowers and sky and the parent otter illustrating the watery other world they inhabit; fish, crustaceans and weeds. Interlacing both worlds and sharing the dual relationship with water and land is a kingfisher diving deep in one aspect and flying out with a fish in another. As a final flourish I added water lilies that meander through the water to break the surface in a flash of gold flowers, a jubilant reminder of the joy seeing an otter brings. This Otter is a 'Golden Otter' - one that has been specially selected by a panel of expert judges as being particularly stunning. Of the 81 Moor Otters there are only 25 Golden Otters. These Golden Otters will take their online bids to the live auction on Saturday, 2nd October 2021 at Bearnes, Hampton & Littlewood, Okehampton St, Exeter. You can continue to bid on these otters at the live auction in person or online.
